So I just finished watching the whole season 1 of The Lying Game. Took me a day for each half. All I can say is I am in love with Thayer Rybak. How can Emma Becker not fall in love instantly with him? (This is the crazy shipper talking…) I liked Ethan and Emma together in the first few episodes because Sutton, the real Sutton, was a total bitch. But then Ethan became a total douche and I sort of gotten tired of his brooding act.
Emma’s character is so likable. I find most of the goody two shoes TV characters annoying but not her. I usually opt for the bitch in twin sisters (e.g. Katherine Pierce against Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries) but Sutton was surprisingly annoying and she doesn’t even get that much air time. I guess Emma was just the real main character in TLG.
I really like Mads/Madz Rybak. I don’t know how to spell her name. She’s a really cool friend! But his latest boyfriend is so not attractive, AT ALL. And where the hell did Char go? I thought she’ll at least return for the last episode. Is she even returning for season 2?
I loved Laurel Mercer! I loved Allie Gonino! She’s such a cutie albeit annoying at times. I hated that Justin guy though. I hope he won’t be returning for next season. And the band was really awesome. Can that Baz guy really sing in real life? Allie has a good voice and it’s really cool that she can play the violin! They play really good music too. I hope we’ll hear more of them next season.
Rebecca and Alec was annoying. I don’t want to talk about them. Rebecca’s story line was fairly predictable and Alec’s voice is so annoying that I don’t even pay much attention when he’s in the scene. Kristin/Kristen and Ted (wait, was Mr. Mercer’s first name Ted?) were heartbreaking. That scene when Laurel closed the door in Mr. Mercer’s face… I really cried (more like shed a tear). I hope they get to keep Emma in the end because she’s so much better than Sutton.
AND I HOPE SUTTON DIES JUST LIKE IN THE BOOK. I’M 100% SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. Emma Becker is a great character that I feel so sympathetic towards her. I’ve never felt this sympathetic to a TV character before…
Now, back to Thayer… I have this weird feeling that Themma is not endgame. I’m sorry for saying it, I feel bad for saying it. But it’s just… It feels to good to be true. I’m really glad that he didn’t take advantage of Emma’s vulnerability in the season finale. He’s been a complete gentleman with just hints of being flirty in the awesome toast he gave in the engagement dinner! If they don’t kill Sutton, I hope she makes it her life goal to keep Ethan away from Emma so Emma and Thayer can finally be together!
THAT FELT GOOD. Wow. I have so much Themma feels right now.
